M4A1-S Fade Percentages and Prices

What each M4A1-S Fade percentage from 90% to 100% has sold for on CSFloat, which seed is the only tracked 100% fade, and how little the percentage matters below 99%.

M4A1-S Fade sellers love to put the fade percentage in the title. "98% FADE." "MAX FADE 99%." The sales data says most of those percentages barely move the price. Almost every M4A1-S Fade tracked here sold for around $300, whether it was a 90% or a 98%. Only the top two bands pay off.

This guide uses 4,792 completed CSFloat sales recorded between 28 April and 19 September 2026. All eleven groups are on the M4A1-S Fade skin page.

What fade percentage means

Fade skins blend from one color to another across a gradient, and the paint seed decides which part of that gradient sits on the gun. A seed that puts more of the gradient's bright end on the visible side gets a higher fade percentage. The percentage isn't in the game itself. It comes from third-party calculators that score each seed, and different calculators disagree by a percent or two for the same seed.

This site groups M4A1-S Fade seeds by percentage from 90% up to 100%. The 100% group holds exactly one seed: 374. What a CS2 pattern index is covers seeds in general if the idea is new.

91%46360$290.12$645
90%53441$285.26$536.60

From 90% to 98%, the median climbs from $285.26 to $325. That's about $40 across nine bands, and it isn't even steady: 95% sold for more than 96%. Paying $80 extra because a listing says 97% instead of 93% doesn't match what anyone has actually paid.

The step to 99% is the first one that shows up clearly, about $67 over 98%. Then 100% nearly triples it.

100% fade: seed 374

The only tracked 100% M4A1-S Fade, and the cleanest price story in this guide. Twenty sales, all Factory New, none with stickers. The cheapest went for $563.88 and the most expensive for $1,849.90, with a median of $995.10. Nothing else is inflating those numbers. That's what buyers pay for the top seed.

99% fade

The 99% band has the biggest single sale tracked for this skin, $5,677.14 for seed 441. Don't read much into that one. The copy had five Team Dignitas Holo stickers from Cologne 2014 on it, and those stickers are worth thousands on their own. Seed 441's six other sales, none with stickers, ranged from $277.90 to $499.90.

Seed 112's $1,385.90 top sale had four Dignitas Holos from DreamHack 2014 plus a fifth sticker on it. Its best sticker-free sale was $569. Seed 245's $1,367.28 sale is more interesting: no stickers, and a float of 0.0001. Seeds 279 ($629.90 median) and 80 ($675.51) are the 99% seeds with the highest typical prices.

The 94% group has the same pattern. Its $2,770.26 top was seed 841 with four Cologne 2014 Dignitas Holos, and 841's median is $316.84. How stickers affect skin prices explains how to spot this before you trust a number.

90% to 98%

These nine bands make up most of the market: 4,409 of the 4,792 tracked sales. The 98% band alone had 1,004. If you're buying an M4A1-S Fade to use rather than to collect, this is where the value is, and the percentage inside this range is close to a coin flip on price.

Float barely matters here

The M4A1-S Fade only comes in Factory New and Minimal Wear. The tracked sales split 4,648 Factory New to 144 Minimal Wear, and the Minimal Wear floats all sat between 0.07 and 0.08, just past the Factory New cutoff. Medians were almost the same: $302.35 Factory New, $307.33 Minimal Wear. That's unusual. On most skins the wear bracket moves the price more than anything (Float values explained shows how much), but a 0.075 Fade looks nearly identical to a 0.06 one.

Should you pay for a high fade percentage?

For 100%, yes, if that's what you want. Seed 374 has a consistent premium across 20 clean sales. For 99%, a modest premium is fair, and a few specific seeds (80, 279) trade well above the band. For anything from 90% to 98%, pay the going rate for an M4A1-S Fade and pick the one you like the look of.

One more thing. Steam Community Market shows a single price line for Factory New M4A1-S Fades, blending 374 with every 90% seed (why that matters). Use the percentage groups above instead.
